Frequently Asked Questions
What is a postpartum Doula?
A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and practical support to a new family during the weeks or months after childbirth, helping with newborn care, recovery, and adjustment to life with a baby.
What is a birth Doula?
A birth doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to a person before, during, and shortly after childbirth. Most of all, I'm your friend.
What happens after I decide to book?
Once you let me know you'd like to work with me, I'll set up your client portal within Doulado. Within this online platform, you'll find my contract, required intake forms and your invoice. Once everything is completed, signed and the retainer is sent, we can get our appointments scheduled.
What happens if you are not able to support me?
I have a backup doula for each and every family, no matter if you're for birth or postpartum. I am transparent beforehand about my availability and I do let you know when it changes. I have not had to use a backup doula yet and I do not plan on unless absolutely necessary.
Do I have to be a believer for me to hire you?
Absolutely not! I am not here to force my faith unto you but I am willing to pray, worship and read scripture with you throughout your journey.
Do you accept insurance, offer discounts or payment plans?
I am in the Carrot directory! I do offer discounts and payment plans if you reach out with your circumstance. I also offer 2 - 3 birth pro bono services a year.
Birth: 50% due up front, rest is due by 36 weeks
Postpartum: 50% due up front, remaining billed weekly once services start (hourly rate)
When do you go on call for me?
I go on call for birth families starting at 37 weeks until 42 weeks.
